Let’s face it, penis size is a concern for many people. The topic is often surrounded by myths, misinformation and anxiety. So it’s time to set the record straight and answer the question on everyone’s mind - can you make your penis bigger naturally?

There’s an idea that a big penis equals great sex–but the size of the penis has no reflection on how good someone is at giving sexual pleasure. Penetration is just one part of sex, remember? Everyone has their own preferences; some prefer a smaller penis, while others prefer a larger one. So don’t stress, because there are plenty of people who will be more than happy with the size of your penis.

Despite this, we still hear people regularly asking about how they can lengthen their swords. The short answer is that there isn’t any proven natural way of making your penis physically bigger, despite many methods claiming they do. However, there are a few things you can do to enhance the look of your penis.

In this blog, we will share what methods might make your penis appear bigger, and we will also cover the methods that are ineffective.

Is my penis normal?

Research has found that an astounding 45% of men believe their penis is too small. In a world where pornographic media often portrays larger penises as the norm, it is hardly surprising. The truth is that penises come in all shapes and sizes! Some are curved, some are smaller, some are bigger, some are growers, and some are showers.

So, how do you know if your penis size is "normal"? Well, first off, it's important to remember that there is no one "right" size for a penis. If we look at the numbers, the average length of a flaccid penis has been reported to be around 8.7 cm (around 3.4 inches), and the average erect length is just under 14 cm (just under 5.5 inches).

If you have noticed anything unusual, such as penile discharge, pain or sores, that is not normal and needs to be checked, as it might be a sign of an STI. Order one of Yoxly’s at-home testing kits to get tested for STIs at home and get rapid results!

How to make your penis appear bigger naturally

Weight loss

Excess body fat can build up around the pubic area, making the penis appear smaller. Losing weight can help reduce this fat tissue and make more of the penis visible. However, this method will only work if you actually have some squidge on you. If you’re already very lean, losing weight may not be healthy and is unlikely to make a difference to the appearance of your penis.

Shaving or trimming pubic hair

A big bush can hide the base of your penis, making it appear smaller. Trimming or shaving your pubic hair can make it look more prominent. Have a play around with different styles and see which one you prefer.

Exercising pelvic floor muscles

The pelvic floor muscles are responsible for controlling the flow of your pee and supporting the bladder, prostate, and rectum. Regularly exercising these muscles can help strengthen them and improve blood flow to the penis, leading to stronger and longer-lasting erections.

Kegel exercises, or pelvic floor exercises, focus on contracting and relaxing these muscles to improve their function. The easiest way to identify your pelvic floor muscles is to tense the muscles you’d use to stop urine flow.

Being in a warm environment

When you're in a warm environment, your blood vessels dilate. This increases the blood flow to your penis, making it appear larger than when you’re in a cold environment. However, this effect is only temporary and doesn't actually change the size of your penis.

If you’ve got a date night coming up and you’re feeling self-conscious about the size of your penis, try turning the thermostat up a few degrees so your member isn’t hiding.

Improve cardiovascular fitness

Regular cardiovascular exercise, such as running or swimming, can help improve blood flow to your penis, which can lead to stronger and more obvious erections. What’s more, exercising regularly can help you shed a few pounds, which harks back to our previous point about losing body fat so that your penis isn’t hidden.

Penis enlargement methods: Do they work?

Penis size is a common concern, and many techniques claim they can make your penis bigger. Unfortunately, for most of these methods, there is no scientific evidence to suggest they work, and they pose significant health risks.

Penis enlargement surgery

There are various surgical procedures advertised that claim to increase the size of your penis. These procedures can be expensive and risky, and the results are often unpredictable. One of the most common “penis enlargement” operations involves cutting the suspensory ligament that attaches the penis to the pelvic bone, which can cause the penis to hang lower and appear longer. However, this procedure has a low satisfaction rate of 30-65%, and can result in complications such as erectile dysfunction, scarring, and nerve damage.

Implants

There are several types of penile implants available, including inflatable implants and malleable implants. However these are typically only recommended for men with severe erectile dysfunction. These devices often require regular maintenance, as they can have complications such as mechanical failure, pain and altered sensation. Most importantly, they DO NOT actually increase the size of the penis, and can sometimes even make it smaller.

Creams and supplements

Countless creams and supplements on the market claim to increase penis size, but there is no scientific evidence to support these claims. In fact, many of these products may be harmful to your health, as they can contain unregulated or unsafe ingredients.

Penis stretching and lengthening methods

Non-surgical penis lengthening techniques, like tissue massage and vacuum and penile traction devices, have not been scientifically proven to be effective.

Conclusion

You are certainly not alone if you worry about the size of your penis–but don’t forget: everyone is different and there is no “normal” size. That's what makes us all unique.

If you’re still feeling self-conscious and your concerns are impacting your confidence in the bedroom, there are a few natural and easy methods that can make your penis appear bigger, such as losing weight, trimming pubic hair, doing Kegel exercises, and improving cardiovascular fitness.

It's important to avoid methods that claim to increase penis size but have little evidence to support their effectiveness, such as surgery, implants, creams, penis lengthening methods and supplements. These methods can be expensive, potentially harm your health, and often result in disappointment.

Ultimately, remember that penis size is just one aspect of sex, and many other factors contribute to a satisfying sexual experience. So instead of worrying about penis size, focus on exploring the many ways of enjoying sex with your partner.
