HIV and AIDS Support

We understand that living with HIV or AIDS can be a difficult and isolating experience, but you don't have to face it alone. Our page is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive space for those living with HIV or AIDS, as well as their families and friends.

What is HIV?

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus which weakens the body's immune system. If left untreated, it can lead to AIDS (Acquired Immuno-Deficiency Syndrome).

HIV is most commonly transmitted through unprotected vaginal or anal sex, as well as through sharing drug injecting equipment. It cannot be transmitted through hugging, kissing, shaking hands or any other general social contact.

There is currently no cure for HIV. However, with treatment, people living with HIV can enjoy a long, healthy life. If someone living with HIV is on effective treatment, making their viral load undetectable, they cannot pass it on.
